Stories & Songs

STORYTELLING

My favorite way to sing my songs is alongside storytelling. Our stories are important. God is in our stories, weaving all the pieces together, redeeming things, repurposing things, healing things, revealing things. I am so passionate about believing this for myself and believing it for other people. He wants to show you where he was/is in all the parts of your story. He wants to give you life on this broken earth and give it to you abundantly.

SONGWRITING

There are revelations, perspectives, and feelings I experience that only come out in songwriting. I used to consider songwriting more of a hobby, but now I consider it a necessity. It brings life and healing, and it moves me forward in ways that other things can’t. I write songs about all sorts of things — relationships, my understanding of the Lord, anger, motherhood, anxiety, etc. Above all, my songs are honest. Sometimes the stories I tell in my songs wrap up nicely, and sometimes they don’t. But that’s the tension we find here on this earth. The kingdom is now and not yet. There is goodness and there is despair. My hope is that in my library of songs, you find yourself in at least one. I want my songs to draw you in so that something new is drawn out of you.

YOUR STORY

I am passionate about each person on this earth believing they have a story to tell, a part to play. There is something you offer that no one else can offer. Your gifts, skills, and interests paired with your personality and the community you’re in puts you in a story that is unique to you. The circle where you have influence is significant, and I want to encourage you to see it, own it, and move forward in it.

STORIES & SONGS

I want to invite you into my story so you find connection and understanding, and also catch glimpses of who God is. Intimacy is created in this kind of environment, regardless of whether it’s a large gathering or a small gathering, a sanctuary or a living room.

These two YouTube videos below were live-streamed during the quarantine and are good examples of what you and your friends/family might experience. I’m open to working with you to curate content, songs, and themes to create an evening that fits your group the best. Or — if you have no preferences or thoughts — I will simply share what’s on my heart.

Logistics are simple. You provide the people and the location; I bring the rest.

Would you like to book me for an evening of Stories & Songs with your church, small group, gathering of friends, etc.? Want to know more? Contact me and let’s chat.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“When you shared about some of your anxieties and the life turning moments, it was intimate and connected. The songs that followed then had a new meaning and made me really listen to music differently because I got to understand in a new way. Humans love telling and hearing stories and it's one of the most effective ways of communicating. When I sat listening to your story it gave me life to hear what God has done in you. It offers hope, and it stirs something up in us to tell our stories.” -Rosanna

“Claire’s voice is so smooth and beautiful! I enjoyed all the songs and was very encouraged by her creativity and honesty, especially her Christian perspective on experiences and human thoughts on Bible stories.” -Ashley

“What I love about Stories & Songs is Claire’s heart behind the why. Stories & Songs was birthed out of her own experiences, expressed through her gifting of songwriting and her desire to encourage others and give away to others what has been given to her — freedom, encouragement, and the power of your story.” -Kailey

“I absolutely loved the intimacy that Stories and Songs provided. Being able to sit in a small room with Claire and hearing her heart behind each song was incredibly moving. I loved getting to hear her processes, thoughts, inspirations and so much more. It was a time of deep connection, not only with her as a songwriter, but for all who were able to share the moment and space together. I am so grateful to have been able to attend and would welcome another opportunity to share in Claire’s music.” -Hillary
